NICK HORNER FAMILY
Eclectic acoustic music drawing from expansive Americana roots
Nick Horner Family blends the lyricism of old-time music with modern jazz harmony and rock & roll energy.
Founded in New York City in 2015, the Family brought together musicians from a myriad of creative communities to perform Horner’s richly melodic songs and compositions. Since then, the band has performed both nationally and internationally, including as the house band for the United Nations’ Habitat III Conference in Quito, Ecuador in 2016. Past members include New York musicians such as bassist Zoe Guigueno (Della Mae), guitarist Rob Ritchie (Dolores O'Riordan/Andy Rourke), drummer Nathan Blankett, guitarist Lucas Chohany (April Verch/the Whiskey Feather), bassist Zach Swanson (Daniel Carter), guitarist/singer Christian Apuzzo (Cole Quest and the City Pickers), fiddler Michael Donovan, drummer Lautaro Burgos, and flatfooter Katie Cohen. The band's Knoxville configuration has included musicians such as guitarist John Puckett and drummer Max Miller. From 2024-2026, the Family lineup consisted of drummer Hunter Deacon, multi-instrumentalist Owen Tharp, guitarist Cameron Duffy Moore, and fiddler Ryan Dunaway.
While Nick Horner Family has worked on numerous recording projects since 2015, the band made its official debut with Wyalusing Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 released in fall 2025 and summer 2026 respectively. Wyalusing Vol. 3 will be released in Spring 2027 on Corner Store Jazz records.
