Knoxville’s The Alternates are a passion project gone awry. What began as a studio recording project featuring the music of Tripp White soon became a full-fledged indie rock outfit. Performing songs tinged with the sentimentality of 2000’s indie folk and the grit of southern Americana, the Alternates bring big emotions, powerful lyrics, and dark harmonies to the world of jam band music. The band features songwriting team Tripp White and Nick Horner along with vocals by Darian Pagano and keys by N.J. Marlow. Supporting the band are Cameron Duffy Moore on guitar and Hunter Deacon on drums. The Alternates have released two EPs, It Is and We Are, and will release their third in early 2026.
