NICK HORNER FAMILY

Eclectic acoustic music drawing from expansive Americana roots

Nick Horner Family blends old-time music lyricism with modern jazz harmony, rock and roll energy.

Founded in New York City in 2015, the Family brought together musicians from a myriad of creative communities to perform Horner’s richly melodic songs and compositions. Since then, the band has performed both nationally and internationally, including as the house band for the United Nations’ Habitat III Conference in Quito, Ecuador in 2016. Past members include New York musicians such as bassist Zoe Guigueno, guitarist Rob Ritchie, drummer Nathan Blankett, guitarist Lucas Chohany, flatfooter Katie Cohen, guitarist/singer Christian Apuzzo, and Knoxville musicians such as guitarist John Puckett and drummer Max Miller. Since 2024, the Family has included drummer Hunter Deacon, multi-instrumentalist Owen Tharp, guitarist Cameron Duffy Moore, and fiddler Ryan Dunaway.

While Nick Horner Family has worked on numerous recording projects in the past (often presented under Horner’s own name, the debut EP featuring the present lineup, Wyalusing Vol. 1, will be released this October on Corner Store Jazz Records.
